Reddit, popularly also known as “the front page of the internet” is a trending and unique social media platform where registered users share content like videos images links, text, and posts on topics from all walks of life. On this platform community and contributions are valued. They usually either create or find the content around the internet. According to Alexa internet – “Reddit ranks 7th most-visited website in the U.S and 19th in the world”.
In this, a democratic system is followed where the members of this platform register for free, submit their posts to the subreddit. These users share, comment, debate, or discuss and finally vote for the best post to rise. Not-so-good post to queue up to the last. Ultimately, this post becomes the front page of the site.

WHAT IS REDDIT-KARMA?
Since the criteria used by Reddit is anonymity, it uses “KARMA” in order to show users’ credibility. More the karma more is your influence. There are two buttons that are available on the top left-side of Reddit posts or comments. Users choose either of these to give positive or negative karma. On the profile of a Redditor, you can view its total karma (total points earned for their creditability) i.e. total of post karma and comment karma.
TYPES OF KARMA:
POSITIVE KARMA – when you choose the upward arrow you give positive karma that is positive feedback. These upvotes increase your points.
NEGATIVE KARMA – when you choose the downward arrow you give negative karma that is positive feedback. These downvotes decrease your points.
CONTROVERSIAL – a small cross symbol (†) next to their karma count indicates that the post or comment is controversial i.e. downvotes = upvotes.
